Trainings

Commún offers paid trainings on topics that our community has requested to increase access to power, leadership, economic vitality, and our ability to work together. Topics in the past have included mental health, community resources, computer skills, and communication skills.

  • Where? 2288 S. Tennyson St. Denver CO, 80219

    When? Every Wednesday

How?  Community members request trainings at monthly meetings on topics that are interesting or necessary. Commún staff work with community partners to put on trainings to meet the requests!

With whom?  Commún finds specialists on each requested topic for which we provide training. Commún provides the space, child care, and interpretation for the training.

Why?  We are working to build power, leadership, and resilience in our community. Community-requested workshops and trainings also increase a sense of belonging, agency, and community.

There is no pre-registration to attend a training, and trainings are open to all SW Denver and Sheridan residents. Please check out our calendar below to see dates and topics for future trainings.

Community Job Opportunities

Commún works with over 60 paid community members in Southwest Denver to develop, design, lead, and manage our programs! This includes the creation of 10 jobs, 30+ paid contract positions, and weekly paid work opportunities.

  • We work together to decide on hourly pay and salary wage rates as a community and a staff to ensure that we provide fair compensation and opportunities for advancement. Commún works diligently to create jobs that are accessible for all types of community members, from full time positions to part time and gig work. We seek to respect individuals as experts in their own experience, paying community members with lived experience related to programming to attend meetings where we make collective decisions, design programming, and hire staff.
