History
Our mental health program was founded in response to a request from youth in our community for more culturally relevant and accessible mental health care for themselves, their peers, and their families. Commún worked with our youth organizing team and youth participants as paid experts in their lived experience to intentionally design our current model.
Program Goals
Increase access to mental health care for communities who are furthest from care through multilingual, culturally responsive, and community-designed programming
1.
Decrease stigma toward mental health care through multi-generational programming and soft access points
2.
Increasing longevity in the field for mental health care providers through self-care, manageable case loads, and job variance
3.
Intentional collaboration with community to build and develop program
4.

Auricular (ear) Acupuncture
Auricular Acupuncture, also known as ear acupuncture, is a variation of traditional acupuncture, a centuries-old practice in Chinese medicine. It involves inserting five thin needles into the outer left and right ear. Each of the five points correlates to a different part of the body to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support overall well-being.
