(She, Her)

Laura is a social worker, program facilitator, and advocate for food sovereignty. With over 14 years of experience in sustainable food systems, farming, and youth development, she thrives on connecting people and plants to promote community resilience and wellbeing. At Commún, Laura manages the food program, supports grant writing and program administration, and leads a horticultural therapy group for Spanish-speaking teens and adults, fostering an inclusive space for growth and healing through gardening.

Laura is an LCSW and received her MSW from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, a BA in History and International Studies from the University of Richmond, and a certificate in Horticultural Therapy. Outside of work, Laura enjoys camping, baking bread, and tending her garden with her partner and two young kids.
