Director of Finance and Operations, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers

Kelly McVerry has dedicated her entire career to the nonprofit sector, beginning in 2001 after earning a Finance degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She joined AmeriCorps, working on small business development in Blanding, UT, and on the White Mesa Ute Reservation.

Kelly's most recent role was as Director of Finance for Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, where she served from 2010 to 2023. During her 13-year tenure, she played a key role in transforming the organization from a $500,000 nonprofit to one generating $2 million in revenue. Her work included onboarding a new Executive Director, developing policies and procedures, and collaborating closely with leadership to ensure organizational success. Kelly is passionate about budget management and strategic operational growth, and she’s excited to contribute to Commún's continued development.

After serving as treasurer on the Commún Board for three years, Kelly transitioned to the Director of Finance role in October 2023. When she isn't working, you'll likely find her running on a trail with her dog or enjoying time with her family.
